Joe Bonamassa live in Frankfurt

Shame on me – I heard about Joe Bonamassa just 4 weeks before his concert in Frankfurt on October 13, 2011. My neighbour Christian told me about his taxi ride from the main station to his home. The cab driver was listening to this awesome guitar player. Christian recommended me do definitly check this guy out. Well, just a few days later I heard a song of Joe’s being aired at our local Rock radio station “Radio Bob!”. That’s when I thought: “I’ve got to see this guy live in concert and take some good shots from the first row!”

The promise of a great evening full of fine blues and rock was definetely held by Mr. Bonamassa and his band. They played an awesome set at the wonderful Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt-Höchst. Bonamassa’s fingers were literally flying over the strings, setting his guitar almost on fire. Even though Joe had just started to have a cold (which made him cancel a few shows afterwards) he still showed some real guitar extravaganza. I especially enjoyed the frequent interplays with his drumming mate Tal Bergman.

A littel site note to this show: Joe told the audience that his very first concert in Frankfurt was attended by a mere 24 spectators (and all of them recieved a free beer to come to the venue!). This time more than 2.500 people found their way to the Jahrhunderthalle … and I am sure that no one has regretted this evening ever since!
